Phillip Fischer is a highly accomplished Chief Information Officer (CIO) with a wealth of experience in leading digital initiatives across many industries and organisations. With a pragmatic and results-oriented approach he has successfully spearheaded many successful transformative ICT programmes throughout his career. Since July 2017, he has held the position of CIO at University College Dublin (UCD) in Dublin, Ireland whilst also being on the Board of Directors of HEAnet. In this role, he has been instrumental in driving the continuous improvement of university-wide ICT services, supporting academic and administrative functions as well as aligning IT programmes with UCD's strategic digital transformation goals. Furthermore he has been instrumental in driving sectoral opportunities through his role on the board. Prior to his tenure at UCD, he served as CIO & PMO Europe at Aramark where he led the pan-European ICT Services group, collaborating with corporate Centers of Excellence to enhance organisational efficiency, leverage economies of scale and support organisational growth. He also played a pivotal role in leading organisational transformation projects across the region enabled by platform standardisation. His journey with Aramark began as CIO Ireland, later being appointed to CIO UK, Ireland & India before getting the position of CIO & PMO Europe. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Musgrave Group where he held various IT positions with the primary responsibility of delivering on the Business Intelligence and Management Information System demands of the Group. Prior to that he established and ran his own Systems Development organisation in his hometown of Bochum, Germany. Furthermore, he holds the Henley MBA and more recently completed the Institute of Directors Chartered Director Programme (IoD). Phillip's track record showcases his ability to navigate complex organisational landscapes whilst continually delivering results. This is driven by his extensive experience, interest and passion in digital innovation and optimisation, continually driving excellence in IT service delivery.
