I have retired, in the traditional sense - I have finished working. I started my first “career job with prospects” in 1974. So time for the Third Act, about time I left the space for colleagues following on. I have enjoyed my time in the Renewables Sector. I have met and worked with many interesting and very capable people, lots of them more interesting and more capable than I. Working in the sector gives the sense of achievement and impact. I never thought I could enjoy working, I never had before. But turn of the century was a turn of a new leaf. A rollercoaster most of the time and a white knuckle ride some of the time. But so exciting and rewarding. There are many people I now count as my friends long after the business related reasons have passed. I am going to enjoy the things now that work has previously pushed aside. But always happy to meet up with old friends.
Source Energie is a developer focused on Floating Offshore Wind. The company's main activity at present is a Joint venture with Galileo, the European-focused Renewables Development platform of HRL Morrison along with Australian and New Zealand Supers. EMPower ltd is a greenfield developer of onshore wind projects, in joint venture with Galileo Green Energy, HRL Morrison’s European vehicle backing management platforms in the Renewable energy space. This business is actively developing onshore wind projects in Ireland, UK and Nordics.
Carbon Metrics ltd arranges funding for projects and whole businesses in the Sustainability Sector - resource efficiency, renewable energy, substitution of fossil fuel use. Projects or undertakings need to be capable of having inputs and outputs contracted for at least the period of the funding facility. Critical filter is to have a first project in operation. This Funding works as non-dilutive growth capital.
