Gained a proper working understanding of Bechtel's end to end supply chain processes, government contracting standards and site-specific compliance requirements. Most of my time was spent working with the receiving team, receiving, tracking, and managing materials coming in and our of Bechtel's MHF. Led a data-driven project analyzing prior-year priority receipts and related performance metrics, identifying KPIs and patterns using Excel to support supervisor decision-making. Lots of detailed document verification, and other odds and ends such as shelf life calculations, resolving discrepancies, etc. Last but certainly not least I developed professional workplace skills by collaborating across teams and adapting to office workflows, communication practices, and operational rhythms.
Maintain clients’ gardens while working in small, varying teams every day building strong social and teamwork skills in a working environment, planting trees and plants, as well as installing patios and fences, etc. I started with little experience and learned to do everything as I worked the job, and became proficient at it.
Gained experience communicating with customers through phone and in person, running them through their ownership of their new bikes, maintenance intervals and such Worked as part of a team with constant communication with coworkers on logistics of what bikes and when to build them Learned how to be independent and take on bigger tasks by myself, as discussed below; Would run a check of what bikes were for sale on the floor of shop at a given time, see what we needed and what was selling, go pick up boxed up bicycles from an offsite storage facility, then unbox, build, and enter them into the inventory system Often have meetings with managers about what products were doing good, bad, or ones we needed to add to our shelves
