Member of the Program Quality Team and is in charge of supplier quality in program until transfer to serial life. Supporting the Program Quality Leader and Program Buyer by managing the supplier's performance for one or several programs. From program development phase to launch he/she ensures robust application of APQP process. The main missions of the role were: -Deploy APQP according to program planning and program risk assessment. -Ensure that the defined standards are properly applied and on time delivered (APQP elements). -Follow the APQP progress with the status report and take decisions in collaboration with the program team. -Support the PQL in completing the Quality Workpackage (WP), by fulfilling required Supplier Quality WP according to PMS schedule. Based on experience, can take over responsibilities on Quality deliverables not limited to Supplier Quality scope. -Align Defect Convergence with Problem Solving / Defect Convergence from the Suppliers. Give recommendations on technical choices to ensure the product/process robustness during program development (for both suppliers and Faurecia plant) -Manage the process qualification at supplier (process audit and R@R, mandatory rules, quality basics implementation) -Pronounce PPAP status and ensures to deliver validated PPAP prior Start of Production (SOP) after JIT assembly trial & OEM expectations. -Monitor PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and S/R rate. -Secure all Key characteristics (Safety and Regulations) during Program phase. -Manage progress/convergence plan with low performance suppliers involved in program in collaboration with division SQD.
Implement the Supplier Quality Engineer strategy and ensure that the Customer Specific Requirements needs are forwarded to suppliers; - Monitor APQP activities (including PPAP, design review, supplier award) and resolve all technical issues encountered by suppliers that may require modification; - Monitoring supplier performance, negotiating and monitoring the Top Worst supplier improvement plan in order to achieve QCD objectives; Applying Quality Improvement tools; -Contributing to the "design to process, cost and quality" approach; Developing relationships with suppliers; - Carrying out supplier audits and follow-up action plans; Reducing the branch's exposure to the risks of the supplier base, supporting level 2 escalation; - Preparing the procurement plan with the project buyer and participating in Nomination Commitee phase1 (RFQ), Nomination Commitee phase2 (award) for serial projects/procurements to ensure that the SOP fulfils the required QCD conditions.
Lead and coordinate Supply Chain's commodities team members in the program Follow up new product as a Key member on the quality gate reviews, meetings and top management presentations. Support design-for-value (DFV) activities Evaluate design parts with engineering, quality, manufacturing, logistics, and suppliers’ teams. Submit and track RFQ’s for prototypes and production. Responsible for cost studies preparation in new projects include tooling. Follow up and develop and develop cost reductions on the projects. Responsible to facilitate the relationship between suppliers and plant.
Responsible for new supplier validation audits. Drive supplier selection through qualification processes. Develop supplier’s processes and build capabilities meet the design intent and are compliant with BorgWarner’s requirements. Responsible for track the supplier’s performance indicators, based on their scorecards and rankings, to facilitate and develop them. Responsible for driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans on the supplier with multidisciplinary team. Drive improvements utilizing Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards and own supplier audit. Lead the solution for supplier component concerns, driving Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), customer interaction, supplier interaction, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) support, supplier component development and approval and supplier cost improvements. Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
