Federico Ferranti is Chief of the Heritage and Tourism Department at the Heritage International Institute, where he coordinates initiatives focused on heritage preservation, sustainable tourism, and the promotion and UNESCO nomination of cultural sites, with particular attention to both the tangible and intangible heritage of local cultures. His work seeks to foster meaningful connections between people, places, and traditions, serving as a bridge between civilizations. Based in Rome, he is also a licensed professional tour guide specialised in the design and delivery of historical and archaeological itineraries. He is officially accredited by the Italian Ministry of Tourism through the National List of Tourist Guides (ENGT), as well as by the Colosseum Archaeological Park and Vatican City, where he leads tours when not engaged in research or cultural diplomacy projects. Alongside his fieldwork, he has taught tourism legislation in professional qualification and training courses for tourist guides and tour leaders. In addition, as a long-time scholar of Eastern philosophies and indigenous cultures, he has devoted more than twenty years to promoting intercultural understanding through independent research and educational projects in India, Tibetan Ladakh, and Australia.
