Singapore
Hello! I am Fermin, a Chemistry graduate from the National University of Singapore. I am currently working at STMicroelectronics as a process engineer, mainly as a process owner in the Strip group My previous experiences includes being a Process Engineer Intern at STMicroelectronics where I was in charge of deployment of an automated wafer thickness testing system to improve the fab productivity. I was also an Educator at ZHE Learning Centre where I was given the opportunity to tutor academically weaker students. It was pleasing to be able to witness my students grow and improve throughout the academic year and achieve their desired results.
SG6/8 Etch Module - Handled process engineering duties within production line for Metal & Strip group - Analysis of Statistical Process Control (SPC) data for root cause analysis - Lot disposition through analysis of inline data and process flow - Process owner for Strip processes in Gasonic and Axcelis stripper tools
Conducted Mathematics and Science classes for Primary and Secondary school students. Achievements include: - Helping Primary school students achieve grades ranging from AL1-AL4 for PSLE, - Secondary school (Express) students to achieve distinction grades for school examinations - Secondary school N(T) student to improve from 30% overall score to 70% overall score in school examinations Collaborated with fellow educators to produce supplementary mathematics worksheets relevant to the current syllabus as advised by MOE.
- Conducted research on solid-state hybrid quantum dots systems for use in photon upconversion systems - Formulated various synthetic routes to overcome challenges such as low yield and selectivity in synthesis of various target compounds - Proposed and developed alternative solutions to issues such as low photoluminescence quantum yield and photostability through analysis of chemical structures and bondings, resulting in development of acene system with good solid-state emission
SG6/8 Photo - Deployment of thickness automation system of 8" wafers to improve efficiency and reduce manpower usage for maintenance and quality check - Worked on improvement of above thickness automation system to improve process flow of wafer testing - Assisted in recipe check process through to ensure accuracy of production recipes - Deployment of programme to prevent incorrect wafer recipe modification to maintain higher wafer quality
- Conducted a year-long research project on n-doped polymers for use in organic thermoelectric generators - Formulated and optimized a synthetic route for the target polymer, alongside its different alkyl chain length variants - Fabricated a TEG device to characterize its figure of merit(ZT) and conductivity - Proposed and developed methods to improve air-stability and figure of merit of the target polymer - Proficient in device characterization and data analysis using NMR, XPS, UV-VIS, FTIR and GPC
