As a Computer Engineer, I focus on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and real-world industrial challenges. My work primarily centers on Computer Vision (CV), Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a strong interest in developing end-to-end solutions, from model architecture and training to deployment on mobile platforms. I have been involved in high-impact research and development projects within Türkiye’s leading defense industry programs: • HAVELSAN SUIT: Developing AI-powered diagnostic systems for CNC machining processes using sensor fusion and computer vision technologies. • TUSAŞ LIFT-UP: Designing and implementing deep learning models for cutting tool wear analysis and usability decision-support systems. My technical expertise includes Python, OpenCV, PyTorch, and TensorFlow, and I have gained practical experience in the following areas: • Computer Vision: Developing YOLO, UNet, and CNN-based models for object detection, image segmentation, image classification, and similarity search applications. • NLP & Large Language Models (LLMs): Designing AI-powered chatbots and decision-support systems, particularly for healthcare-related applications. • Mobile Development: Integrating AI-driven solutions into mobile platforms using Flutter and Kotlin. Additionally, I have developed cross-platform libraries with Kotlin Multiplatform, enabling seamless deployment on both Android and iOS. • Software Quality: Applying Agile/Scrum methodologies and contributing to software testing and quality assurance processes throughout the development lifecycle. Beyond technical development, I actively contribute to leadership and community-building initiatives. As a Co-Founder and former Vice President of the High Technology Society at Atatürk University, as well as an R&D member of Huawei Student Developers (HSD), I have led teams, coordinated technical projects, and promoted a culture of innovation and continuous learning. Developing an AI and computer vision-based system to analyze the wear condition of cutting tools, as part of a capstone project in collaboration with Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ). Processing cutting tool images to detect wear regions and analyze the extent of the wear using deep learning techniques. Designing a decision-making architecture that evaluates the usability of the cutting tools based on the extracted visual data. Refactored and organized the project codebase to enhance modularity, scalability, and overall efficiency.
Developing an AI-driven diagnostic and quality control system for CNC machining processes within the scope of the HAVELSAN SUIT program. Designing a computer vision model to inspect manufactured parts and instantly detect structural anomalies and production defects. Developing a sensor data processing model that activates upon defect detection to perform root cause analysis by analyzing machine telemetry. Correlating visual defect data with machine sensor data to pinpoint the exact origin of the error (e.g., machine malfunction vs. cutting head/spindle issues). Integrating computer vision and sensor-based machine learning models to build an end-to-end automated fault detection architecture.
During my internship, I focused on advancing my technical skills and experience by working on real-world projects involving AI-powered object detection systems. As part of this work, I developed solutions capable of performing object detection under various data scenarios using Zero-Shot, One-Shot, and Few-Shot learning techniques. In addition, I designed and developed a high-performance, reusable library using Kotlin Multiplatform, enabling seamless deployment on both Android and iOS platforms. This experience allowed me to gain valuable knowledge in cross-platform software development, mobile AI integration, and software architecture design. By actively participating in real-world projects, I strengthened my problem-solving, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills within a professional environment. Ensuring that the developed solutions could be effectively utilized across multiple mobile platforms further enhanced both my technical competencies and industry experience. The practical experience gained throughout this internship has made a significant contribution to my continuous professional development and has expanded my experience in software engineering and artificial intelligence.
