Kenya's mid size towns are quickly growing in sizes and number with a continuing build-up of landfills overflowing with waste and a deficit of local power generation. At the same time, soil quality is decreasing rapidly while global warming makes crop security less reliable due to irregularity in rainfall. With this backdrop, we aim to solve Kenya's waste management and energy supply challenges through the innovative use of waste to create sustainable energy and products. Waste-to-energy is the process of turning a major problem into environmental and financial opportunities. In our case through the means of pyrolysis converting the waste into electricity and bio-charcoal.
Storimi is an iPad app providing the user with hundreds of well known fairy-tales for children. Apart from presenting beautiful books in a friendly environment, the users can record their voices while reading the books and then share that moment of closeness with someone they like.
