I am a family physician and healthcare executive with a masters degree in health services who is driven to improve health care access and quality of care among uninsured, underserved, and indigent populations. I am focused on improving programs and processes which have demonstrated positive outcomes, and move American health care towards the goal of becoming a truly integrated and equitable system. I am very interested in advancing a community health model that considers how family, neighborhoods, and lifestyle impact the health of the individual, and believe deeply in the medical home model which promotes continuity and accountability in primary care settings.

Inland Empire Medical Director for Molina Healthcare of California. Worked with wonderful team in the Inland Empire (San Bernardino and Riverside Counties) helping to coordinate care for our Molina members. Work focused on collaborative approach to care coordination, quality improvement, network integration, and utilization management.
After serving as Board Secretary and Vice President I was nominated and elected President in November of 2019. During my two terms as president I served in an interim capacity as executive director; initiated and guided the hiring process for our new executive director; established our ACU National Advisory Council; initiated the development of our new strategic plan; chaired our policy and advocacy committee; strengthened our policy and advocacy programs; and worked with leadership to strengthen our financial base.
Returned to CMO role after serving as Interim CEO from November 2010 to August 2012.
Acting in an interim role as both CEO and CMO as of Noveber 15, 2010. In the CEO role I worked on solidifying our financial base, helping the clinic through difficult negotiations to retain ownership of our flagship property, and restructuring financing to improve our overall fiscal position. I was successful at competing for federal, state, and private grants to expand and improve facilities and health services, and open new clinical sites in the cities of Downey, Bell Gardens (school based health center) and Maywood. I continued in the role of CMO with oversite of all clinical staff.
Lead clinical staff including provider, nurses, pharmacists, and medical assistants. Provided direct patient care (adult and pediatric care). Developed and implemented new policies and procedures. Developed and implemented a quality improvement program. Guided clinic through implementation of clinical elements of Federally Qualified Health Center requirements. Drove the selection and implementation of a electronic health record (NextGen). Began the process to apply for FTCA deeming by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Served as liaison and spokesperson for agency.
Took lead role in clinical affairs involving the organization. Worked closely with clinicians and administrative staff at member health centers. Directed collaborative quality improvement efforts for member healthcare organizations. Developed and implemented a member workforce plan. Collaborated with community and clinical agencies who sought to work with member organizations. Represented the organization on statewide and national clinician committees.Managed workforce and clinical grants.
