Deployment of Linux/Unix based OS images on OVH's 300'000+ bare metal servers and related tasks: - Automation/Scripting (Shell, Perl) of in-house install system - OVH Mirror infrastructure - Automated deployment of third-party applications (Proxmox VE, Plesk, cPanel, DirectAdmin, ISPconfig and more) - Technical and administrative tasks in German subsidiary - R&D for newly available Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris OS; building, deployment & updates of images - Maintaining, patching and deploying the OVH Linux kernels - Tests of new server hardware and patching of Linux/FreeBSD kernel drivers where necessary - Managing of netboot environments for internal as well as customer use (like rescue and diagnosis systems) - Setup and maintenance of internal and public mirror systems in coordination with upstream open source projects
Second internship semester at the Serious Fraud Office of Ghana in Accra, in cooperation with the Gesellschaft für technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ, German technical cooperation). Setup of a complete Linux-based office and communication infrastructure (hard- and software, servers and clients) and staff trainings.
In-house first- and secondlevel IT Support; site-spanning administration of Linux- and SUN-workstations; conceptual design, testing and rollout of virtualized environments for the R&D department using VMware software
