San Diego, California, United States
As a teaching assistent to Prof. Klaudia Brix I supervised second-year students during their lab course, assisted with experiments and marked assignments.
Research Group Prof. Dr. Andreas Diefenbach, Institute of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Immunology, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin My project investigated how the microbiota influences keratinocyte differentiation and proliferation using a mouse model. Furthermore, I looked at the interplay of keratinocytes and ILC3s in the skin. Methods: flow cytometry, primary cell culture, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), cell migration assay, DNA and RNA isolation, genotyping
Research Group Prof. Dr. Yishi Jin, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, University of California, San Diego I investigated the role of membrane contact sites between the plasma membrane and the ER/sarcoplasmic reticulum in axon regeneration in the nematode C. elegans. My research focus was on the junctophilin protein class. Throughout my internship I was able to acquire and to strengthen crucial laboratory skills such as conducting genetic screens, fluorescence microscopy, culturing of nematodes and designing scientific experiments.
