About

Co-founder of Countagen, where we are establishing a new standard for gene editing safety validation. Our LockSeq NGS library prep platform addresses the "Validation Wall" in genomic medicine—eliminating current data blind spots and accuracy challenges. By providing sequence-level truth with high accuracy and assay success on high-plex target site panels, we help R&D teams satisfy IND-enabling safety requirements with absolute confidence. Built on foundational research from Stockholm University and SciLifeLab, Countagen is currently executing industrial pilots with global pharma leaders to move genomic therapies safely from the lab to the patient.

Countagen is a Stockholm-based biotechnology company providing high-fidelity targeted NGS solutions for high-resolution genome editing Quality Control (QC). We developed LockSeq—a novel targeted NGS library preparation platform—to solve the "Validation Wall" inherent in traditional PCR-based assays. By utilizing a unique gap-fill ligation-lock chemistry, we fundamentally eliminate target dropout and amplification bias, providing researchers with the sequence-level truth required for preclinical and IND-enabling studies. The LockSeq Advantage: - Simultaneous Indel Profiling: Profile and validate hundreds of genomic loci in a single reaction. - High Sensitivity: Robust detection of on- and off-target edits down to 0.1% frequency. - Broad Compatibility: Platform-neutral performance across Illumina and Oxford Nanopore systems. - Cost-Efficient Scalability: Scale panels and samples with zero target dropout. 📍 Based in the SciLifeLab / Karolinska Institutet ecosystem, Solna. 🌐 Visit us at: www.countagen.com
