I work on the messy part of biotech: getting things from the lab to production and from production to paying customers. That space between 'it works' and 'it ships' is where I've spent most of my career. My background is in upstream bioprocessing and equipment industrialization. At Univercells Technologies I built and ran the service and operations teams through a period of rapid growth and the eventual acquisition by Donaldson. Before that I spent half a decade at Pall/Danaher, working across Europe, the US, and Asia on bioprocess applications and technical sales. That mix of engineering, commercial, and cross-cultural experience shapes how I work. I've learned that scaling technology is as much about aligning people and expectations across cultures and time zones as it is about the process itself. Now at Biophelion, I'm building the commercial function for fermentation-derived specialty ingredients. The goal: replace fragile, unsustainable supply chains with resilient regional fermentation. Early stage, small team, big problem worth solving. Always happy to connect with people working on industrial biotech, circular bioeconomy, or the practicalities of getting fermentation products to market.
Building the commercial function for a SPRIND-backed deep tech startup converting industrial waste streams into high-value bio-based ingredients using microbial fermentation. Responsible for go-to-market strategy, key partnerships, customer acquisition, and operational infrastructure to take the platform from lab-scale validation to commercial traction.
Advised vaccine/biotech start-ups on MSAT operating models, QbD/DoE, and transfer plans. Built SOP/WI libraries & remediation roadmaps; supported CAPA effectiveness checks and CPV dashboards. Support innovative upstream industrialization
spending some extended time with my family traveling the south of Europe in a Campervan for 6 months.
Led a 15-FTE global MSAT/field org (PMs, scientists, technicians); matrixed >20 cross-functional staff. Owned QbD-driven process designs and CQV strategies (FAT/SAT→IQ/OQ/PQ) for vaccine/vector platforms; coordinated PPQ & CPV. Supported design & industrialization of the scale-X fixed-bed range; acted as process SME for fixed-bed operations and deployments. Defined URS and equipment requirements; set PQ strategies for new apparatus. Designed/ran comparability for DS/DP changes; partnered with Material Sciences and suppliers on specs/changes. Implemented standardized work & training; CRM/CMMS/ERP workflows; reduced deviations and equipment down-time. Partnered with RA/QA/QC AD on filings & change controls; authored/reviewed process development plans and SOPs/WIs. (Context) Served as Acting CTO during acquisition: technical diligence inputs and integration planning.
Represented Product in customer settings for Scale-X/Nevoline; consolidated VOC into requirements for iterations. Ran on-site adoption programs for gene therapy/vaccines; aligned PD milestones with commercial offers. Co-wrote proposals and pilot scopes; accelerated time-to-decision with clear technical/economic narratives.
Supporting a small brand with alpaca wool scarfs from Ecuador and Peru in getting to a CO2 neutral footprint. Digitalized the backoffice, standardized work flows and reduced process time
Led APAC specialists; supported launches with Sales/Marketing/Product; drove training and data-backed adoption. SME for tech transfer and lifecycle validation; frequent client workshops and conferences across the region. Contributed to the design & industrialization of the iCELLis technology as an applications SME; channeled early-adopter data to R&D/Engineering.
