Conduct physical examinations and take record of patient’s health history Performing diagnosis based on the assessment of the patient Ordering lab and diagnostic tests for patient diagnosis Creating short- or long-term treatment plans for patients Prescribing medications based on patients presenting symptoms and test findings Recognize and treat patients with emergent needs Responsible for maintaining the movement of the emergency department by safely and quickly dispositioning patients. Works in collaboration with emergency department physicians Able to perform small bedside procedures within scope of practice
Emergency Room
Supervise and mentor nursing students during clinical rotations in hospital and healthcare settings. Provide hands-on instruction to students on patient care procedures, safety protocols, and nursing skills. Evaluate students’ clinical performance and provide constructive feedback to promote professional growth. Demonstrate evidence-based nursing practices and ensure students follow proper clinical standards. Develop and implement clinical learning activities aligned with nursing program objectives and accreditation standards. Monitor student compliance with healthcare facility policies, infection control guidelines, and patient safety requirements. Facilitate critical thinking and clinical decision-making through case discussions and patient care planning. Collaborate with faculty and healthcare staff to coordinate student clinical placements and learning experiences. Assess student competencies through observation, skills checklists, and clinical evaluations. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and performance evaluations. Ensure adherence to ethical, legal, and professional nursing standards during clinical practice. Orient students to hospital units, equipment, documentation systems, and patient care protocols. Promote a supportive learning environment that encourages confidence, accountability, and teamwork.
