I am an Early Career Research Fellow at Oxford Univeristy, at the Institute for Ethics in AI and at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights. My research lies at the intersection of law, technology, and criminal justice. My work addresses AI regulation and ethics, with particular emphasis on three areas: 1. the use of AI systems in prison settings and their implications for surveillance and rehabilitation; 2. the regulation of non-consensual sexual deepfakes and other forms of AI-driven gender-based abuse; 3. the governance of high-risk AI systems, with a critical focus on the risks of top-down misuse by governments and LEAs and its effects on democracy and individual autonomy. I am also a Research Fellow at Reuben Collge (Oxford) and affiliated to the Information Law Institute of NYU School of Law.
As an Emile Noël Fellow, I work on a critical examination of the EU AI Act in the context of AI top-down misuse, exploring new ways for a democratization of AI
