I conducted phytochemical analysis on several plant systems and cell cultures for the study of secondary metabolites connected to systemic acquired resistance, plant-insect interaction, plant-microbe interaction I gained extensive experience on NMR-based metabolomics analysis coupled to multivariate data analysis (transcriptomics) of plant extracts, human urine and plasma I developed pre-analytical methods for the metabolic profiling of fruit and cell cultures I conducted molecular biology experiments for the expression of transcription factor in tobacco I supervised several graduate as well as undergrad students, also delivering undergraduate-level course in Plant Metabolomics and Systems Biology
I have isolated several secondary metabolites from fungi for the determination of their biological activity I supervised undergraduate students and delivered part of the course in Phytochemistry to undergrad students.
I have investigated plant species and fungi for the isolation, chemical characterization and activity evaluation of secondary metabolites, gaining experience in the use of mono- and bi-dimensional NMR spectroscopy for structure elucidation purposes I have developed novel synthesis of prenyloxycoumarins tested for biological activity I have done teaching assistance at undergraduate-level in the phytochemistry course and laboratories.
