I am a polyhedric data scientist who had the opportunity of working on projects within different sectors - ranging from neurobiology to energy and automotive&mobility - and of managing expectations of different stakeholders. Over the past 10+ years, I developed technical and communication skills that today allow me to navigate in a comfortable way all steps of data related projects: from getting (and helping defining) requirements from project managers, to organizing the work of IT developers and collaborating with them, to presenting results in a clear and captivating fashion. My academic background provided me with a scientifically rigorous mindset that accompanies me whenever I approach something new.
Working with telematics and insurance data to build models in the automotive and mobility sector. - Creating from scratch a modeling framework to assess the risk of providers of Autonomous Driving technology - Determining the driving habits of insurance customers analyzing telematics data coming from devices installed in their cars - Driving a data collection campaing in a group of volounteers to acquire data through the smartphone's sensors (accelerometer, magnetometers, GPS, gyroscope)
Teaching 'Mathematical modeling for biology' in a master program in Quantitative Biology. The goal of the course is to provide mathematical tools to describe fundamental mechanisms in biological phenomena.
Graduate research in the Computational Neuroscience group, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Klaus Pawelzik and Dr. Udo Ernst. I have experience in mathematical modeling, simulation and analysis of neural data. In particular, I investigated visual information processing in the brain with dynamical systems, generative models & sparse coding. The title of my dissertation is "The role of long-range connections in contextual processing and spontaneous activity of primary visual cortex".
Support to the Risk Management of the Business Unit Gas&Power. Knowledge on European energy markets. I developed a mathematical model to implement financial Clearing Procedures and an optimization model for strategic storage of natural gas.
