I'm currently studying LLB Law at the University of East Anglia and actively building legal experience alongside my degree. I volunteer with Norfolk Community Law Service (NCLS) and took part in the Justice Project, where I supported individuals facing legal challenges. These roles have strengthened my interest in family law and access to justice, and taught me the importance of clear, compassionate communication. I also completed the Bar Placement Scheme, gaining firsthand exposure to courtrooms, case preparation, and life at the Bar. Taking part in the UEA Legal Triathlon and Mediation Competition has helped me develop advocacy, negotiation, and teamwork skills in practical settings. Outside of law, I've worked in customer-facing roles and taken on leadership positions, which have shaped my confidence and problem-solving abilities. I'm always looking to grow, learn from others in the profession, and explore opportunities where I can make a meaningful contribution through law.
As a Multi-Employer Brand Ambassador (MEBA) for BPP University with HigherIn, I promote the “Get the Edge” competition, helping students explore what really matters to employers. I run online and in-person events, create engaging social media content across platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and Snapchat, and support students in developing the practical skills, experience, and confidence they need to stand out in a competitive job market.
As a member of the Young Adults Scrutiny Panel for Norfolk Constabulary, I review policing activities including searches, arrests, and use of force. We get the chance to ask officers questions and provide feedback, helping ensure that young people’s perspectives are heard. This contributes to transparency, accountability, and improving trust between the police and the community.
Completed a virtual mini pupillage with Francis Taylor Building, gaining insight into practice within planning, environmental and public law. The programme included a case review discussion of R (CPRE (Somerset)) v South Somerset DC [2022] EWHC 2817 (Admin), a panel session with members of chambers, and a structured advocacy exercise. In the advocacy session, I prepared and delivered a presentation responding to an assigned statement and engaged with questions from fellow participants. I received constructive feedback from a barrister on the clarity, structure and delivery of my argument, which helped refine my oral advocacy skills. This experience provided a deeper understanding of the work undertaken at the Bar and the nature of practice at Francis Taylor Building, while developing my analytical reasoning and professional communication skills.
