Frank Born is a New York-based art appraiser and dealer with over thirty years of experience in the Post-War, Contemporary, and Emerging Art markets. He is a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America and provides appraisals for charitable donations, insurance valuations, damage claims, banking collateral, and litigation support. He has a particular specialty in Post-War and Contemporary Art, especially works from the 1960’s. He founded Frank Born Arts in San Francisco in 1987 and relocated to New York in 2011. As a dealer he specializes in assisting collectors who are ready to sell their collection or portions of them. He keeps up to date contacts with museums who are the preferred locations of much of the work he sells. His institutional clients include the J. Paul Getty Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, The National Gallery of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, The Morgan Library, The Frick Library, and The Princeton University Art Museum, among others. He has been a practicing painter for forty years which brings an additional dimension to his work as an appraiser and dealer. He holds a BA from Duke University.
