➢ Analyze customer needs to determine the costs, capacity and requirements for creating an electrical Hardware plan ➢ Plan, develop and lead Hardware engineering projects and efforts ➢ May also interact with customers, make business assessments and mentor other engineers ➢ Develop, configure and oversee the upgrade, enhancements and fixes of applicable Hardware ➢ Plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee activities in the Engineering and Development department, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the company. ➢ Actively participate in the evaluation and modification of 3-5 year product roadmap. ➢ Design hardware as per Customer requirement provided in the form of SoW, Block Diagram etc. using Cadence OrCad/Concept/Allegro, Altium, Mentor Xpedition, Mentor DxDesigner or any other tools. ➢ System, Power, Reset, Clock, JTAG etc. Block Diagram implementation. ➢ Component selection & schematic symbol development based on electrical & mechanical parameters, manufacturer, pricing & availability of parts etc. ➢ Power designing and power budgeting implementation based on design requirement. ➢ Schematic design and hookup as per finalized functional diagrams, datasheets & reference designs. ➢ Performing footprint placement & routing, providing layout guidelines. ➢ Verification of schematic symbols, connectivity along with BOM checks implementation using spreadsheet & scripts. ➢ Hardware testing, bring-up & debugging using available lab equipment which includes oscilloscope, signal analyzer, rework soldering station etc. ➢ Work collaboratively & diligently with fellow Hardware Team Members, Product Management Team, Embedded Team & Manufacturing Team to design & produce reliable, standards compliant & world-class products. ➢ Quotes and SoW preparation for JDM/ODM projects as per input from Program Managers and other relevant departments. ➢ Design, plan, document & develop new hardware products from initial requirements through prototypes to production ready. ➢ Modify design to eliminate performance issues that causes the design to malfunction. ➢ Communicates with Customer technical personnel regarding issues & challenges to implement solution where required. ➢ To assist other departments for PCB Footprint Development & Placement, Routing & Layout, SI/PI, 3D, Thermal etc. ➢ Develop and follow project plan and report project status to Program Manager and to Customer. ➢ Component Engineering i.e. finding multiple alternates of the parts used in the project & finding second sources for NRND, Obsolete & LT parts to ensure the smooth product manufacturing without any delays.
