About

As a researcher, student and an employee, I embody essential traits such as analytical thinking, strategic problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous learning. As a student, my academic journey at NUS equipped me with a solid foundation in Chemical Engineering principles, encompassing thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, as well as general and physical chemistry. Throughout my bachelor's degree, I honed my proficiency in various programming languages and simulation software, including Mathworks MATLAB, Aspen HYSYS, and Python. Following the completion of my Bachelor’s degree, I embarked on a rewarding role as a research engineer at NUS under A*STAR’s Low Carbon Energy Research (LCER) grant, while pursuing a part-time Master’s degree. In this capacity, I specialized in renewable transition, engineering simulations and computational optimization, further enhancing my programming skills in Python and MATLAB. Some notable works I pursued during my research tenure include the development of a cash flow analysis application for renewable energy projects, the modelling and optimization of power sector green transition, and the simulation and integration of hydrogen receiving terminals with LNG plants. My work as a research engineer involved collaboration with external partners, honing my communication and presentation skills, and enabling me to effectively convey research findings and recommendations to stakeholders in the engineering and energy sectors. Furthermore, my Master’s degree provided me valuable exposure to project engineering, offering me key insights into the development of chemical plant projects. Now, as I near the completion of my Master’s degree, I am eager to take my experiences and transition from academia to industry. As an employee, I take pride in my ability to acquire new skills autonomously, my diligent work ethic and unwavering integrity. My ability to acquire new skills was shown in my self-taught proficiency in Python web application design for the purposes of developing the cash flow analysis application. Subsequently, my work ethic and integrity has shown through in the quality and timely completion of projects, and the willingness to invest additional effort to meet objectives and exceed expectations. I am committed to upholding the same level of rigor, work ethic, and personal integrity that have defined my academic and professional journey thus far, and continue to go above and beyond to contribute to both my current and future work.
