I am a training Cardiac Physiologist studying at the University of Southampton with the aim of achieving a BSc Hons degree.
Part time Care Assistant providing compassionate care supporting residents in a care home environment which involves assistance with personal care and daily activities whilst promoting independence and ensuring the comfort, wellbeing and dignity of residents is maintained. Alongside this I am gaining experience building positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and infection control. This role provides me with the opportunity to develop my team working, communication and problem solving skills which are important in ensuring residents are effectively supported.
A full time 12 week placement which provided me with a valuable insight into the role of a Cardiac Physiologist working within a multidisciplinary team and gave me another opportunity to apply and build on my clinical knowledge. I was able to observe and perform a wide range of cardiac diagnostic procedures allowing me to develop my practical skills within a clinical setting, alongside the privilege of interacting with patients across a wide variety of clinical scenarios.
A full time six week placement where I had the opportunity to further develop my personal and professional ability to deliver high standard care in a placement environment.
A full time two week placement where I professionally conducted myself while performing key clinical tests such as Electrocardiograms, Echocardiograms as well as observing procedures performed by professionals in Cardiac Catheterisation Labs.
I was a part of a multifunctional team in a recreational centre that required constant problem solving, customer service skills and working within a wider team to ensure the smooth running of the facility.
