Currently an Analytical Scientist at CPI. Graduated from LJMU with a First Class degree in Biomedical Science. Lover of pathology and histology. I have gained many skills throughout my experience in both retail and laboratory settings, e.g., excellent working autonomously or as part of a team, competency in a fast paced and high pressure environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in conducting complex laboratory investigations, etc. I am a hardworker, quick learner and am motivated to learn new techniques and develop my current knowledge.
As an Analytical Scientist at CPI I have range of responsibilities and continue to broaden my skill set. My role varies from hands-on lab work, to the completion of GMP documentation, etc. Key Responsibilities/Skills: • Setting up, planning and executing experimental work related to technology transfer/validation of analytical methods as per cGMP and ICH guidelines. • Running routine and complex analytical techniques, such as HPLC (RP, SEC, etc), CE/CIEF, Bio-Layer Interferometry (Octet System), UV-Vis, Endotoxin, SDS-Page, Agarose Gels, Western Blots, etc. • Analysing and formally reporting/presenting experimental conclusions with supporting data. • Responsible for providing clearly documented records of technical data, methodologies, calculations, etc. • Working collaboratively in a team to ensure experiments are thoroughly planned and executed within an agreed timeframe and in accordance with project requirements. • Supporting QC in equipment validation & method verification. • Training other team members in routine and complex techniques.

In the Pathology department at Darlington Memorial Hospital I carried out a range of duties to ensure the laboratory run efficiently, so that samples are tested quickly and appropriately. Key Responsibilities/Skills: • Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, COSHH, Health & Safety, etc. • Complying with infection control policies and sterilising designated areas to maintain cleanliness. • Carrying out clerical, laboratory and technical duties to ensure the department runs smoothly - e.g., receive/sort/identify/label specimens, completing and organising documents/paperwork, operating laboratory equipment (load/unloading analysers, preparing samples, etc).
At Assured Screening I had a range of roles and responsibilities, primarily involved in testing COVID-19 samples via RT PCR. Key Responsibilities/Skills: • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures, cGMP, Health & Safety and other regulations to promote a safe and professional working environment. • Time organisation and prioritisation when working with 2000+ samples a day to ensure results are distributed on time. • Preparing reagents, e.g., IPA, 80% Ethanol and Tris for RNA extraction. • Accurate data recording/data logging. • Competent in conducting sample transfers, RNA extraction, RT-PCR and analysing PCR data on Aria software. • Excellent communication when working in a team to ensure the laboratory runs smoothly. • Resilience when working under pressure - undertaking the workload of others to ensure all work is completed on schedule. • Perform simple audits as per the laboratory Quality Management System.
At The Mad Tatter Tattoo Studio I had several key responsibilities, primarily communicating with customers, disposing of and sterilising clinical waste/equipment, as well as managing paperwork. Key Responsibilities/Skills: • Teamwork - liasing with other staff members to provide the best quality of care and service to customers. • Organisation - maintaining a clean working environment to meet Environmental Health and Health and Safety standards. • Time management - consistently being at work on time, sanitising between customer appointments, etc. • Excellent communication and active listening skills - sustaining face to face contact with customers and meeting their needs.
At Bargain Booze I undertook a range of roles, including working the till, stocking shelves, cleaning, etc. Key Responsibilities/Skills: • Handling money and cashing up the till at the end of a shift. • Maintaining cleanliness - cleaning shelves/the shop floor. • Stock rotation - carrying out frequent stock checks/rotation to ensure everything was in date. • Time management & organisation - reliable to always be at work on time, finishing tasks in a timely manner. • Teamwork - working with other staff members to ensure we got tasks done efficiently. • Communication & customer service - helping customers, dealing with complaints, calm when working under pressure.
