CRE/CMBS, ABS Data Centre and Digital Infrastructure Securitizations - Lead analyst on high-profile CMBS and CRE transactions ranging from £50–100 million to multi-billion-pound portfolios (£5–£10+ billion), including complex cross-border deals across EMEA and the US. - Lead analyst on ABS Data Centre transactions. - Overseeing the full credit rating process with end-to-end accountability, from initial structuring to final rating committee. - Managing and mentoring junior analysts — providing training, technical guidance, and performance feedback. - Lead credit and ESG analysis for a wide range of asset classes, including office, retail, logistics, residential (incl. social), hotels, hospitals, and increasingly, data centres and AI-driven infrastructure. - In-depth legal analysis of borrower- and issuer-level documentation, ensuring structural soundness and risk mitigation. - Spearheading market research and assumptions-setting for EMEA CRE, leveraging deep sector knowledge to inform credit decisions and valuation models. - Cash flow modelling, valuation analysis, and tool development — enhancing accuracy and usability. - Key role in ESG integration, evaluating sustainability risks and opportunities at both asset and transaction levels. - Driving innovation through the development and application of Generative AI tools in credit risk and CRE analysis, including use case design, testing, and implementation. - Represent the firm in external engagements — investor calls, conferences, and client meetings — serving as a primary point of contact for institutional clients and stakeholders. - Collaborate across asset classes and global teams on strategic research, cross-functional projects, and weekly briefings covering Credit, CRE, CMBS, ESG, and market trends.
Structured Finance - Real Estate CMBS/CRE
Alpha Real Capital is a specialist real assets investment manager focused on secure income strategies. Its Funds invest in UK and European assets with predictable secure long term cash flows. Main tasks: • Credit analysis (using Moody's and S&P criteria as well as internal methodologies) of tenant ratings and new transactions and existing exposures, including attending tenant and borrower meetings • Provide significant input into the development of effective funding strategies for transactions and businesses and undertake financial analysis to appraise the relative merits of each • Financial statements analysis and reclassification • Research into and production of sector analysis for a range of industries with operational real estate (Foodstores, Healthcare, Industrial, Logistics, Holiday Parks, Retail, Education) • Use financial models to support the development of financial structures, fund models, valuations, sensitivity and scenario analysis • Supporting the origination team in the pricing of new transactions and preparing Investment Committee papers • ESG and Sustainable Investing and use of MSCI Climate VaR, Social Profit Calculator and others • Presentations to Investment and Credit Committees held by senior colleagues • Assist in the development of new business, preparation of client presentations and support in marketing of new products • Liaising with clients to support live transactions • Investment reporting – produce factsheets and draft responses to ad hoc investor requests • Liaise with and coordinate relevant advice from Alpha’s specialist legal, regulatory and financial advisers • Supporting on internal corporate finance opportunities in relation to investments being considered by Alpha or funds managed by Alpha • Development of new credit rating methodologies • Other ad hoc tasks and projects (PowerBi, reporting automation etc) • Report directly to the Head of Investment and Risk
Structured Finance - CMBS / Commercial Real Estate Main tasks: - Assessment of credit risk of Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) and Commercial Real Estate Loans - Primary analyst/lead analyst on full CMBS and CRE Loans (size up to £5 billion) - Manager of interns and junior analysts - Detailed commercial real estate (CRE) valuation analysis. On-site property inspections (Offices, Light Industrial, Logistics, Retail, Shopping Centres, PBSA, PMRP, Hotels etc) and full property valuations review (incl. EDD, TDD) - In charge of CMBS Assumptions development, elaboration and analysis of commercial real estate market data (C&W, CBRE etc). Quarterly reviews and in-charge analyst. Periodic discussion on market trends and proposed changes with Credit Officers and senior members of the group - Preparation of ratings assessments and proposals. Presentations of credit ratings to internal credit committees - Development and application of ESG scores in SF and CMBS. Full-time secondment in the US CMBS group based in NYC, US. Main tasks: - Full Surveillance process and performance review of US CMBS multifamily deals secured by assets such as multifamily, student housing, senior living, healthcare, manufactured homes - Broad exposure to US CMBS conduit and large loans deals secured by retail, office, industrial, multifamily, hotel and other asset types - Direct exposure to the US CMBS market (TreppPort, Moody's REIS, US CRE asset types, rules, market conventions etc) - Participation in the overall US CMBS surveillance process (modeling, assumptions, servicing etc)
