Project features: - 380 kV underground cable connection (UGC) of approx. 9 km: 1 circuit, laid in trefoil in ducts 9 sections, 24 joints, 27 cable drums of up to 1200 m Complicated route through port/industrial/city area with numerous crossings and HDD sections - 380 kV overhead line (OHL) of approx. 6 km length with Rhine river crossing - 380 kV GIS and 380/110 kV phase-shifting transformer at power plant terminal Activities: - Quality control of the production of cables and accessories, routine and sample tests (“system sample test” acc. to DIN VDE 0276-2067), FAT - Witnessing the Extended Prequalification (ePQ) test acc. to DIN VDE 0276-2067 (German version of IEC 62067) - System engineering and all design review related to the 380 kV UGC (earthing, laying, joint bays, terminals, …) - Failure analysis, investigations, improvement of jointing procedures - Interface planning and management at transition points GIS/cable and cable/OHL (civil, electrical, FOC, I&C) This project will be one of the longest 380kV underground cable connections in Germany.
SuedLink HVDC Project: - Transmission capacity of 2 GW (per corridor); 2 corridors - 700 km underground/land cable connection across Germany - Continuation of 1400 MW NordLink project (Norway-Germany subsea cable) - Commissioning envisaged for 2025🤪 https://www.netzausbau.de/leitungsvorhaben/bbplg/03/de.html Main activities: - Preparation of full set of Tender Documents for „HVDC Cable Package”, including - All Technical Specifications, project specific and interface documents - Management of electrical interface between HVDC Cable and Converter - Technical support for the preparation of contract documents (legal workstream) - Active involvement in negotiations with bidders / cable suppliers until contract award
