Nice to meet you! Fabian Claes Coppoolse Jansen, that's my full name. But you might know me as Fabian Jansen. I'm a Dutch actor, director, artistic director of Theatre Kamak & founder/ceo of Fabuch Social Cinema. As an actor I’ve played with acclaimed theatre companies from The Netherlands & Belgium, like NTGent, Orkater, Nite/NNT, Theater Artemis, Onafhankelijk Toneel, Het Toneel Speelt, Zeelandia a.o. touring both these countries, Austria, Germany, Denmark, England and Broadway, NYC - USA. I have worked with acclaimed film directors such as Peter Greenaway, Saskia Boddeke, Mijke de Jong, Saskia Diesing, Margien Rogaar and Tallulah H. Schwab. Since 2009 I produce, write and/or direct theatre plays for both young & older audiences, short films & medium length fiction films, podcast series & live marathon performances (168 hrs & 120 hrs). In 2018 I founded Fabuch Social Cinema (Stichting Fabuch a.k.a. The Fabuch Foundation), the first professional social artistic film company with sheltered employment in the Netherlands. In our fully equiped film studios we are creating prize winning artistic films, shorts, theatre plays & multimedia projects about urgent social issues & taboos. We work with people who are struggling with all kinds of social, intellectual or psychiatric challenges and experience experts/peerworkers, who get specially trained and accompanied by our acclaimed actors, film professionals and care team to work on their talents, set up their own projects and participate in our projects as a real cast or crew member to tell their urgent stories.Together we make Social Cinema. Aside of Fabuch Social Cinema our team created Fabuch Dagbesteding & Beschut Werk B.V. (Fabuch Adult Care & Sheltered Employment Ltd.), a social enterprise and care company, which is created to give specialized artistic (young) adult day care and sheltered employment for those in need. Together we make Slow Cinema. Fabuch Social Cinema is the first and only structurally funded film company in the Netherlands, thanks to the Province of Fryslân. In April 2025 I was appointed as the artistic director of Theater KamaK in Hengelo. The first professional Dutch theatre company with only actors with intellectual disabilities. Five days a week our ensemble of 28 actors are working on their skills and repetoire, just like their (slightly more famous) collegues without disabilities.
