Vienna, Vienna, Austria
I am psychiatrist at the Medical University of Vienna, working in the Clinical Division of Social Psychiatry, where I am involved in the clinical care of patients with severe mental illness, with a particular focus on schizophrenia. My work is centered on the interface between psychiatry and the broader contexts in which mental health is shaped - ranging from healthcare systems and societal challenges to specific high-performance environments such as sports. In this context, I am particularly interested in the development of sports psychiatry as an interdisciplinary field that integrates clinical expertise with the realities of athletic performance. A key aspect of my work is strengthening the connection between scientific knowledge and everyday clinical practice, with the aim of improving patient-centered care. I am also committed to fostering collaboration across disciplines and contributing to dialogue on the conditions that shape mental health care. I currently serve as President-Elect of the Austrian Society for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics.
