Before joining Outra and Upstix, Fred was a Management Consultant then spent the best part of 10 years building some of worlds fastest growing consumer businesses. First at Uber which he joined in 2015 and held a number of leadership roles including General Manager for the UK and Ireland and Executive Director on the U.K and Ireland Board from August 2017. In 2020 he joined TIER, at the Regional General Manager across Northern Europe. In this role he grew TIER's e-scooter and e-bike operations from 4 countries and 12 cities to 7 countries and +55 cities including London, Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki.
Fred Jones is the Vice President and Regional General Manager for TIER across Northern Europe. Operating e-scooters and e-bikes in 37 cities including London, Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki, TIER helps people move sustainably from A to B to reduce congestion and pollution in their communities.
Fred Jones was the General Manager for Uber across the UK and Ireland. Operating in more than 40 major cities and towns across the UK, Uber connects users to a safe and convenient ride at the touch of an app. When he joined Uber in 2015 Fred was initially the General Manager for expansion, launching Uber in multiple cities across the UK and Ireland. Fred was appointed to the U.K and Ireland Board in August 2017 and was in a number of leadership roles where he was responsible for delivering major strategic programmes. These include the launch of London’s Clean Air Plan that will make Uber’s transition to zero emission vehicles in the Capital a reality and expanding transport options available in the App to further increase the choice, reliability and affordability.
Responsible for ensuring Uber’s service delivers maximum value for riders, drivers that use the app and cities where we operate. This includes launch of new cities and towns, expansion into underserved areas and growth of Uber’s Electric Vehicle and Mobility products.
Fred participated, originated and led multiple strategic engagements for FTSE 100 clients and large Government Departments. From 2013-2015 Fred was the UK Lead for Accenture’s Corporate Strategy and Value Analysis team supporting sales, strategic insight and client relationship development at priority clients. This team worked across industry to develop value creation opportunities for C-level executives, conducts strategic due diligence and evaluates options for increasing value.
