I lead the medical strategy and scientific operations for Nusinersen, following the strategic partnership between Abdi Ibrahim and Biogen. My focus is on the Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) therapeutic area, dedicated to improving patient outcomes within the Rare Disease landscape. Key Responsibilities: Scientific Leadership: Serving as the primary medical point of contact for Nusinersen, ensuring the accurate communication of complex scientific data to Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals. Strategic Collaboration: Working closely with Biogen teams to align medical strategies and execute high-impact medical affairs activities. Medical Strategy: Developing and implementing regional medical plans for SMA, focusing on disease awareness, early diagnosis, and treatment optimization. KOL Engagement: Building and maintaining long-term professional relationships with neurologists, pediatricians, and geneticists involved in the management of SMA. Cross-Functional Support: Providing medical expertise to marketing and sales teams to ensure all promotional materials and activities are scientifically sound and compliant with local regulations.
