• Act as a focal point for UNHCR Jordan’s outreach with donors, including liaising with local embassies and coordinating donor meetings, field missions, and briefings • Draft and implement the communication and visibility plans of two major projects for the UNHCR Jordan operation, and ensure appropriate visibility for other donor contributions as needed (social media, press releases, human interest stories, events, and more) • Produce communication materials on UNHCR’s operations in Jordan, enhance the quality of information for external partners, the general public and other stakeholders, draft monthly situation reports, background notes, fact sheets, operational updates and ad hoc thematic reports
• Coordinated content and logistics for incoming missions of UNHCR colleagues to Washington DC • Supported UNHCR’s congressional engagement and relations with partners, including US Government officials, advocacy organizations, and think tanks • Monitored and tracked global, regional and domestic political and policy developments, Congressional activity and legislation, relevant to UNHCR’s operations and funding • Organised logistics and programming for UNHCR-led congressional delegations to UNHCR field operations
• Researched, identified and analysed prospective partners and institutional donors (U.S. government agencies and foundations) • Monitored relations with current funding partners, wrote briefs, concept notes and proposals for future funding
• Assessed the policy impact of Better Work Jordan and made recommendations as to how to sustain and improve stakeholder engagement strategies, as part of a team of graduate student consultants, under the supervision of a faculty advisor • Led the data management and analysis, client communication and coordination of fieldwork and research with local stakeholders
• Represented Greece in the 3rd Committee (Social, Humanitarian & Cultural Affairs) and 5th Committee (Budgetary and Administrative Affairs) of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), attended plenary meetings and working groups • Wrote and compiled briefs and reports, participated in negotiation processes of UNGA resolutions
• Provided counselling to persons of concern (PoCs), and made relevant referrals to specialized service providers • Coordinated with local authorities regarding asylum procedures, legal documentation, and specialized protection services • Conducted weekly profiling exercises, needs assessment and protection and SGBV interviews • Monitored the emergency response and refugee arrivals in cooperation with rescue teams and local NGOs
