• At G42 I'm part of the Service Team supporting PaaS cloud solutions, focusing on Relational Database Service (RDS), for engines like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQLServer and GaussDB. • I also act in the services around data operations on cloud, like Data Admin Service (DAS), Distributed Database Middleware (DDM), Document Database Service (DDS), Data Replication Service (DRS) and Database Security Services (DBSS).
• Working closely with Territory Managers and Oracle technology Specialist Teams to provide Oracle Cloud solutions for customers, leveraging their cloud resources cost-effectively, understanding customer challenges and helping them achieve their goals. • Participating actively in Oracle Cloud events as a speaker for cloud solutions. • Perform online and face-to-face meetings with customers, supporting sales teams to wow! customers on Oracle Cloud solutions. • Working closely to customer teams to ensure cloud provisioning per best practices for performance and availability, motivating customer cloud trials and cloud adoption. • Technical engagements with partners to widen/develop Oracle partner network in SADC region. • Focus on IaaS, PaaS and Oracle Autonomous technology.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) for RDS. • AWS Premium Support for RDS service in the cloud for a global customer base operational and architectural issues. • Expertise on AWS RDS, EC2 compute services and Data Migration Services (DMS) to the cloud. • Mentor and train colleagues in the RDS team in Cape Town. • Drive customer communication during critical events on a global scale.
• Database administration of Oracle Exadata for Production, Quality and Development environments. • Performance tuning, to comply with access/security standards, high availability, RMAN / EMC Networker and EMC DataDomain backup. • To drive customer communication interface during critical events / troubleshooting.
