Worked with multiple nurses and nurse practitioners to provide care to individuals within a community with the use of a clinic. I was able to collaborate independently with an interdisciplinary team, educate and speak with patients, and learn more about nursing from a community standpoint. This clinical experience allowed me to understand how to communicate with patients who speak a different language and to provide culturally competent care.
This opportunity allowed me to advance my knowledge in cardiac disorders and telemetry readings while I worked on a Cardiac/Telemetry unit for my senior Capstone. While on this unit, I cared for patients with conditions including heart failure, hypertension, pulmonary embolisms, dysrhythmias, and myocardial infarctions.
Confidently administered COVID-19 vaccinations to healthy people of the community. Adept at assessing patients throughout the vaccination process.
