Leading member of the NYPL early literacy team, which is responsible for programs and services for children 0-5 and their families. Leads this work through providing support to children’s staff at all 88 NYPL locations through programming, resources, professional development, and partnerships. Oversees the growth of NYPL’s early literacy program areas to expand our reach in serving children 0-5 and their families and be responsible for managing current and future grants that support this work. Responsible for the design, communication and implementation of programs that support the Library’s strategic vision for Children’s services.

Provided and coordinated ongoing professional development workshops to children’s staff on early literacy and outreach best practices // Conducted regularly scheduled “on-site” observation and supervision visits at 20 Family Literacy Branches// Implemented, created and lead staff trainings on inclusive programming, Autism Spectrum Disorder, special education, and serving children with special needs // Coached branch staff in program planning and delivery, including family literacy workshops and story times, Pre-K and daycare outreach and programming /
· Implemented and oversaw a 30 school pilot program for a blended literacy curriculum · Created content and corresponding supplemental materials for tablet based early childhood literacy app · Networked with educators to introduce and promote blended literacy curricula · Developed trainings and professional development for educators using blended literacy curricula · Managed animators, app developers and copy writers to produce early literacy blended curricula · Tracked data for 1,000 students participating in pilot to track growth and trends

· Selected from approximately 48,000 applicants nationwide to join national teacher corps of recent college graduates and professionals who commit two years to teach in under-resourced public schools. · Participated in intensive summer training program to develop the skills and knowledge needed to achieve significant gains in student achievement. Simultaneously teach in summer school program run by Teach For America for students in New York public and charter schools under the supervision of a faculty of experienced teachers. · Engaged in professional development activities, including seminars, discussion groups, workshops, readings, and learning teams’ specific to my teaching license area.
· Worked in a NYC public elementary school as an assistant to a k/1st grade teacher two full days a week · Gave one-on-one instruction to struggling students and pulled out students in small groups for targeted instruction · Lead small group activities and assisted in the overall duties and responsibilities of managing the classroom
