Nineteen years of teaching experience in higher education. Seven years of online teaching, between 2005-2009 as collegiate professor of art history. Developed and taught numerous courses face-to-face from the beginning through contemporary art. Specialist in 17th-century Dutch art and Renaissance prints. Developed and taught, including independent courses, in both endeavors. Publications on the Dutch landscape artist, Pieter Molyn (1595-1661) appeared in Europe and North America. Wrote and taught the first online art history course, History of World Art, Part I at UMUC. Course was published on the Web, 2002 and ran seven years. Achieved the Stanley J. Drazek Teaching Excellence Award in 2007 at UMUC and two Teaching Recognition Awards (2005 & 1998). Contributing author to: Teaching Art History with New Technologies, Reflections and Case Studies, Cambridge Scholars Press, UK, 2008. Attributed a painting to Dutch 17th-century genre painter Jan Miense Molenaer (1610/11-1668) at the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest with published essay in their Bulletin, 2013. Curated three successful exhibitions at UMUC, one traveled in the US for four years. Read papers at the College Art Association's (CAA) yearly meetings in 2010, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2003 on online education and in specialty. Co-chaired 'Web 2.0 and Art History,' Art Historians Interested in Pedagogy and Technology, 2009. Read paper on JMMolenaer, 16th Century Society & Conference, Montreal, 2010. Respondent, 'Northern Genre Imagery...,' Renaissance Society of America, Montreal 2012. Read paper 'Problems of Attribution,' Southeastern College Art Conference, Pittsburgh 2015. Art Board member in UMUC's Arts Program for twelve years. Presently, Honorary Art Board member since July 2013. Specialties: 17th-century Dutch art, especially Haarlem landscape. History of printmaking, including major printmaking techniques. Curating contextual art exhibitions. E-learning, online course content research and development.
Taught online occasionally in an introductory art history program. Main focus, however, was research and publishing.
