As co-founder and Managing Director of Xpress Precision Engineering, I built an international metrology business from the ground up. As Head of Product Management at DyeMansion, I led the Product Management team responsible for the company's portfolio of post-processing solutions for polymer additive manufacturing. My team was responsible for defining product strategy, managing the product portfolio, and driving the development of solutions across multiple product lines: π¨ Coloring Solutions: Enabling customers to create high-quality, customizable colors for polymer 3D-printed parts. β¨ Smoothing Solutions: Delivering solutions that improved surface quality and enabled production-ready finishes. π¨Β Blasting & Surfacing Solutions: Developing products for efficient cleaning and surface preparation, enhancing both the appearance and feel of printed components. Beyond hardware, the team also managed software and service products, ensuring a connected product ecosystem and a seamless customer experience throughout the product lifecycle. Working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and customers, we defined product roadmaps, prioritized development efforts, and supported the successful launch and continuous improvement of DyeMansion's product portfolio.
During my tenure as Product Line Manager, I drove the growth and development of product lines for ultrafast laser sub-systems and fiber laser sub-systems, spanning sectors like Automotive/E-mobility and the EMS/mobile phone industry. π Product Portfolio: I oversaw product lines for ultrafast laser sub-systems, catering to applications like glass welding, ablation, scribing, and cutting across various materials. From 2020 onwards, I also led the product line for fiber laser sub-systems, specializing in micro welding and cutting. π Business Growth: My role covered the entire product life cycle, including Profit & Loss (P&L) management, strategic pricing, demand forecasting, and product life cycle management. My goal was to maximize revenue and profitability while meeting evolving customer and market needs. π Market Expansion: I drove business development, identifying growth opportunities, expanding our global market presence, and fostering strategic partnerships for innovation and growth. Collaboration with cross-functional teams was essential. π― New Product Innovation: Leading new product introduction (NPI), I identified emerging market trends, conceptualized solutions, and facilitated their seamless transition from ideation to market launch, staying at the forefront of technological advancements. π£ Marketing Strategy: Effective marketing was crucial. Together with my technical co-founder, we established the company, developed a unique product and IP portfolio, and forged a network of strategic sales partners. My role was defined by versatility and leadership across various crucial domains: π Business Leadership: I led our venture from inception, overseeing marketing and sales strategies, driving product management, and formulating strategic directions. πΌ Finance and HR: Nurturing the growth of Xpress Precision Engineering involved not only the technical aspects but also the essential foundation of finance and HR management. I was instrumental in building a strong financial framework and a collaborative, motivated team. π οΈ Unique Product Development: Collaborating with my technical co-founder, we developed a unique product and IP portfolio. Our core offerings encompassed two product lines: 1. Precision Coordinate Metrology Components: We focused on R&D and sales of components for precision (micro/nano) coordinate metrology. This included pioneering 3D tactile probes, advanced controllers, and cutting-edge nano Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs). 2. Custom Analytical Solutions: Xpress Precision Engineering specialized in developing tailored analytical solutions for a diverse clientele, including metrology institutes, universities, high-tech industries, and metrology equipment manufacturers. π Building Industry Relationships: Our commitment to excellence extended beyond product development.
