I was appointed a Consultant Obstetrician at Leeds Teaching Hospitals in 2012. My main interests are high-risk obstetrics, obstetric haematology, diabetes in pregnancy and medical education. Apart from my general obstetric commitments, I run a weekly obstetric haematology clinic in conjunction with haematology, managing patients with thrombotic/haemostatic disorders, haemoglobinopathies and ITP. I am also part of the obstetric diabetes MDT and manage pregnant women with gestational diabetes, T1 and T2D. I’m the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Training Programme Director for Education in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Yorkshire & Humber. I’m part of the MRCOG Part 3 sub committee and examiner. I am also the maternal medicine representative of the British Maternal and Fetal Medicine Society. Lastly I’m part of the Fetal Monitoring team at LTHT and deliver regular fetal physiology and hypoxia lectures to doctors and midwives. I am author of various published articles and guidelines in obstetric haematology, diabetes and medical education.
