I am a new graduate mechanical engineer with experience working in the oil/gas industry from my time at USSynthetic and and experience working in a fast-paced, highly regulated medical device industry from my time at BD Medical. I am SolidWorks CSWP certified and currently studying for my FE exam.  I have exceptional communication and leadership skills learned from being an Executive Events Ambassador 3 years in a row at UVU. Outside of work, I love wrenching on my project cars, hiking utahs peaks, and spending time with friends and family.
● Designed and machined a custom air-knife assembly that redirected debris away from a pneumatic slide, eliminating 150-200 faults per month. ● Developed a visual troubleshooting workflow board that was adopted by 3 high volume production lines, reducing root cause analysis time by up to 4 hours. ● Created complete installation packets for new equipment installs (labeled air lines, hardware kits, tools), preventing setup errors and reducing install time 20–30%. ● Designed and deployed 3D-printed pneumatic assist nozzles to improve part release during rejection, eliminating most jam related faults that previously occurred 10-15 times per shift. ● Supported 24/7 medical device production equipment in collaboration with electromechanics, operators, and leadership to bring line output up 20% across 2 years.
Selected to support executive level university events, represent Utah Valley University leadership during high visibility functions involving donors, faculty, and community partners. Responsibilities include taking ownership of the different aspects of an event such as logistics, creative appearance, and troubleshooting. Individual talents were developed through mentorship of the Utah Valley University Events team. Re-selected for the role three consecutive years based on performance and professionalism.
● Ran controlled brazing trials (temperature, dwell, voltage) to improve consistency of the diamond to metal bond used in precision bearing components. ● Identified that micro-vibration eliminated subsurface air pockets in braze layers; validating the improved bond through metallographic sectioning and wear testing. ● Performed load-to-failure, thermal cycling, and wear testing on prototype diamond bearings using a custom bearing test stand to support R&D evaluation of next-generation designs ● Built a closed-loop slurry filtration and recirculation system for the diamond lapping station, integrating gravity-fed stages and mesh filtration; reduced operator cleanup time by 1-2 hours per shift
