Hello everyone 💜. I, Esscence, am a second year pre-law student at Stanford University double majoring in Sociology and Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. I am committed to making others feel seen, heard, and valued and am passionate about social justice and civil rights. Whether it's providing mentorship, conducting research on cultural heritage, organizing community events, or leading advocacy efforts, I am devoted to it all. That said, I’m dedicated to addressing issues affecting Black and Brown communities especially, such as criminal justice, family preservation, access to mental healthcare, youth mentorship, and STEAM education. Moreover, I’m eager to continue my journey in advocacy, community service, and policy development, and always striving to spread love, promote equity, and foster meaningful change.
As an intern in Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove's office, I had the opportunity to gain invaluable insights into the legislative process while furthering my educational and professional goals. Throughout my time in Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove’s office, I supported constituent services, engaged in legislative research, and assisted with various administrative tasks. This experience allowed me to see firsthand how the legislative branch addresses the concerns of its constituents and the importance of effective communication and collaboration in public service.
As a Research Assistant for the MAGIC Project (Measuring Acquisition & Growth of Inquiry & Curiosity), I contributed to groundbreaking research aimed at fostering curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills in young learners. Working with the SPARK Lab team, I helped design and validate assessments that will soon be used to empower educators and communities to nurture foundational learning skills in children from diverse backgrounds.
As a Sales Associate at Aeropostale, I delivered exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, efficiently processing transactions, and informing them about current promotions and sales. Assisting customers with finding items that met their needs and preferences, ensuring a seamless and positive shopping experience was a priority of mines.
