Erwin holds a PhD. in Earth Sciences from the Universities of Granada (Spain) and Montpellier (France). He has spent the last 10 years assessing risks (active faults, landslides...) for projects in the energy sector (Nuclear, Renewable, Gas, Water) and more recently Urban infrastructure (tunnels). Erwin's interest in the last 3 years focussed on geo-monitoring solutions (geotechnical - remote sensing InSAR etc.) for industrial stakeholders and projects. Erwin is curious about Sciences in general, and loves initiating and developing new ideas. He has a transversal vision on topics and is a defender of collaborative working, always seeking to make links between people and disciplines. As EurGeol title holder, Erwin thrives to benchmark european quality in geo-disciplines.

My research was focused on the investigation of break-up of continental lithosphere during rifting, from crystal-scale processes to plate scale geodynamics combining field structural mapping and sampling in the Beni Bousera (Morocco) and Ronda (Spain) peridotite massifs, EBSD analysis, and petrology - geochemistry - thermodynamics.
I constrained the structure of the basement rocks in relation with drilling campaigns for the development of the RER yard in the region of Ottignies (Belgium)
