About

There are three things, regarding my expertise, that I think stand out the most - conceptual (philosophical) thinking, mathematics and optimisation. These character traits and inclinations have guided (both consciously and subconsciously) the paths of my studies and are manifested through e.g. the courses I've taken (metaheuristics, ML, philosophy of science, various extra math courses), the projects I did and interests I've had. However, my true love and passion is teaching, or rather to say practical pedagogy and psychology, which is why I'm a certified teacher (in Croatia) and have been teaching in various Croatian schools since 2020 and have various future plans in those fields of interest. As a programmer, I strive to create clean and correct code through proper commenting, structuring and testing. The two programming languages I have by far the most experience in are Java and Python, however I strongly believe in using whatever programming language (and tool in general) is best for the job. I have at least some experience with all main programming paradigms but I have a special place in my heart for functional programming, although I have not used it or got to know it nearly as much as I would have liked to yet.

Experience

  • Teacher at Aeronautical Technical School Rudolf Perešin
    Oct 2024 - Sep 2025 · 1 yr

  • Physics Teacher at X. gymnasium "Ivan Supek"
    Sep 2022 - Sep 2024 · 2 yrs 1 mo

Teaching physics (with practical exercises) in the natural sciences and general programs in Croatian and English (Cambridge international).

  • Research Assistant at Ruđer Bošković Institute
    Jan 2022 - Jul 2022 · 7 mos

Molecular dynamics simulations & high-performance computing (HPC).

  • Teacher at Aeronautical Technical School Rudolf Perešin
    Oct 2019 - Dec 2021 · 2 yrs 3 mos

Teaching electrical engineering, computing and various other technical subjects (with practical exercises).

  • UCL ()
    • Postgraduate Researcher (PhD student)
      Feb 2018 - Jun 2019 · 1 yr 5 mos

I was a postgraduate student in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Institute for the Physics of Living Systems (IPLS) under the supervision of Anđela Šarić, PhD. My research was in multi-scale coarse-grained simulations of biophysical systems, in particular developing coarse-grained models for the creation and proliferation of amyloid fibrils, regardless of the specific amyloidogenic protein. In the course of my research I have developed a model for hybrid MD/MC simulations in LAMMPS (publications pending) before terminating my studies.

    • Teaching Assistant
      Sep 2018 - Jan 2019 · 5 mos

I taught theory and assisted students with experiments on the first-year practical physics laboratory course.
