Having resided in Hong Kong, South Africa, and the US, I hope to combine my international experience, love of comedy, and fascination with history to craft stories that build a more empathetic understanding between East and West. As a writer, producer, and performer, I believe that great entertainment can help us look beyond established misconceptions while showcasing both our common humanity and cultural nuances. • Representing Yale Dance Studies Department as an ambassador in meetings, email requests, and panel events with prospective students.
• Traveled across the United Kingdom and United States (London, Cambridge, Sheffield, Austin, Washington DC, New York City) to collect archival materials for screenwriting project and senior thesis on the way Asiatic femininity was portrayed in magic performances during the Golden Age of Stage Magic (1880s-1920s). • Utilised the collections of eight organisations: the Harry Price Archives, the Cambridge SPR Archives, the Magic Circle Archives, the University of Sheffield Archives, the Harry Ransom Center, the Library of Congress, the New York Public Library, and the British Library. • Conducted interviews, visited historical sites, attended historical conferences, and consulted multiple researchers, magicians, and curators. • Findings reported to fellowship committees and academic mentor.
• Assisted Bessie Award-nominated guest choreographer Brinda Guha for the Yale Dance Lab's February 2024 Artist Collaboration. Also assisted Bessie Award-winning guest choreographers Eiko Otake, Jodi Melnick, and Ishmael Houston-Jones for the Yale Dance Lab's December 2024 Improvisation Workshops, all while performing as a selected dancer. • Acted as a point person between guest artists, Yale Dance Studies department, and student performers. Organised scheduling, tracking attendance, and following up with absences to ensure timely communication. • Performed operational duties to run rehearsals smoothly, including technology set-up, note-taking, photography logistics, location scouting, call sheet management, videography, and escorting guest collaborators. • Managed on-campus physical advertising campaign, distributed promotional materials campus-wide to maximise project exposure.
Writing satire articles and drawing cartoons in Procreate and Adobe Illustrator for monthly issues, pitching headlines and one-liners for print and Instagram.
• Lead business team, managed funding, finances, and extracurricular grant applications for America's oldest humour publication. • Sold print and online advertisements, strategised new avenues to generate revenue for 8 print issues, website costs, operations, catering, and special events. • Created the monthly, semester, and annual budget, oversaw all spending. • Went door-to-door to local New Haven businesses to raise brand awareness and share advertising opportunities. • Moderated talk with Family Guy EP and Joy Ride co-writer Cherry Chevapravatdumrong. • Liaised with alumni network to find speakers, sales, and performance opportunities for publication members.
• Designed satirical features, magazine layouts, posters, Instagram posts, & print/web ads using InDesign, Procreate, Photoshop, & Canva. • Communicated with advertisers to ensure ads were to their ideal standard. • Co-led workshops on InDesign to teach recruits the inner workings of magazine layout. • Served as a member of the editorial board, recruiting new members, assisting in event planning, distributing issues, and archiving material. • Mentored new publication participants, co-leading an initiation group.
• Writing concise multi-paragraph coverage, evaluating 10+ pieces of creative nonfiction and fiction per week for America’s oldest professional literary magazine. • Providing developmental notes, recommending content edits, and flagging grammatical errors for the magazine’s associate editors.
• Conducted auditions for classes by leading students through a variety of personally choreographed advanced dance combinations. • Liaised with Branford College's Head and Yale Undergraduate Productions on promotional and technical logistics for "Ballet Under the Bells." The performance was accompanied by bell music rung from Yale's iconic Harkness Tower, and it was the Yale Guild of Carillonneurs's first-ever collaboration with a campus dance group. • Co-curated music selection for performances with Yale Guild of Carillonneurs and Yale Undergraduate Chamber Orchestra. • Organised masterclass with former American Ballet Theatre principal dancer and Oscar-nominated actress Leslie Browne. • Designed promotional materials for ballet company's week-long residency for Alice in Wonderland at the Yale Schwarzman Center.
• Collaborated with producers daily to record interviews and research other late-night shows. • Covered phones, reception, & NBCU Page Desk; escorted A-List guests & their teams, communicated with high-level celebrity and company representatives about guests' locations and requests during page and talent assistant absences. • Contributed to social media and field team's content creation by compiling highlight reels across various segments. • Facilitated production runs for wardrobe, talent, & script departments with discretion, liaised with local restaurants and stores to fulfil guest requests and coordinate crew catering. • Interfaced with advertiser KIND Snacks to facilitate an audience giveaway, personally picking up and distributing merchandise after the show. • Proactively provided logistical support by conducting office inventory checks, setting up the green rooms for guests, and preparing snacks for the office, crew, and control room. • Updated joke database and transcribed captions for Emmy-nominated digital segment Corrections, helping to maintain continuity and log various comedic bits. • Acted as a stand-in for sketch rehearsals and photography shoots, attended daily production meetings and sketch meetings alongside senior producers and writers.
