As Head of AI studio within VIB’s innovation and business unit in Ghent, I focus on supporting high-potential innovations that have the power to transform healthcare and life sciences. Collaborating with researchers, incubating startups, and investors, I help bridge the gap between groundbreaking science and commercial success—driving strategy, business development, and venture creation. I have over 15 years of combined academic and industry experience, exemplified by my scientific track record of collaborative publications and patents on bioengineering, systems biology, proteomics, structure prediction and design. I also run my own consulting business, ULUA Consulting BV, where I provide bioinformatics solutions and advice to biotech, Pharma clients and academic institutes. I enjoy working with multidisciplinary teams and partners to translate novel scientific insights into actionable outcomes and impact in human health.
