PMO, Programme Management Overview Acquired additional skills and knowledge within the areas of infrastructure design, PMO, team management, problem resolution, drawings and specifications, technical design reviews, cost control, safety and quality, construction documentation, budgeting, procurement, and client reporting. During my position at Hill International, I lead a team of 12, including design managers, architects, and MEP engineers. I manage design and project work while maintaining adherence to requirements, statutes, and laws of the local authorities (CD, RTA, DEWA, DCCA, and DM). I perform technical design reviews, encompassing potential engineering issues, usability, constructability, authority issues, and facts or figures verification. A few key achievements in this tenure include: Ensured design approval from the UAE law to gain project construction permit as well as synchronised with contractors to share multiple operations related to checkable packages, and reviewed plans with project parties. Led design management projects with a total GFA of 762000 sqm within pre-defined limitations of time and budget; secured 45.8 million AED for infrastructure by replacing MSE wall with embankment on the entire project. Planned and conducted several meetings with programme manager, consultant, sub-consultant, and quantity surveyor to highlight design documentation priority for procurement purposes, assess performance of all design stages submissions, and meet construction programme requirements. Re-designed the site-wide infrastructure in accordance with employer requirements and relevant codes of practice and approvals of Dubai Municipality, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and other statutory bodies. Managed the activities of design team in Dubai and means of regular coordination meetings to facilitate the production of relevant design information and maintain procurement and construction programme
Work scope: Fit Out, Kingdom Tower Jeddah, KSA and Dubai Tower, Qatar Gained valuable insight into design management, team management, and residential and commercial construction. As a senior design manager, I introduced best practice and standardisation within the design management, and supported design teams by providing opportunities for continuous professional development. I administered RFPs, design brief and design vision, and procurement of lead consultants. The following are highlights of the value I have brought to the company: Directed all aspects of design and project management for Four Seasons Hotel (5*), including residential and commercial elements. Developed and monitored design management team and workflows to ensure most economic and effective use of resources and completion of projects in line with target timescales. Served as a design manager for The Kingdom Tower Jeddah (1000m high skyscraper), and led the centrepiece and first phase of Jeddah Economic City a $20 billion mixed-use development. Contributed in Dubai Tower development (400m high), including a 5 Star hotel, residential apartments, offices and a retail area.
Work scope: Sail Tower, Kempinsky Hotel and Residences Acquired additional skills and knowledge within the areas of interiors design management, drawings architecture, site installation, material submittals, shop drawings, quality control, cost saving, management reporting, and project management. In this capacity, I made independent decisions on architectural issues and methods, and provided architecture reports to senior management for further processing. I incorporated codes, architecture techniques, and sequences in various projects, including all aspects of cross disciplines. I Reviewed onsite installation, method statement, and material submittal. A few key achievements in this tenure include: Reviewed and approved shop drawings architecture and interiors design in line with the quality control standards. Collaborated with senior engineers, MEPs, and architects to streamline multiple activities related to architecture, and participated in meetings with chairman of design clarification. Led design clarification meetings, and responded to RFIˋs, site installation comment, method statements, and material submittals. Prepared and delivered cost effective proposals, and suggested innovative solutions for project management problems.
Work scope: Turnkey Fit Out Hospitality Projects Gained valuable insight into project management, business development, bidding, construction, site communication, costing, sub-contractors and suppliers sourcing, materials logistics, risk management, time scheduling, client requirements assessment, quality control, management reporting, and documentations. During my position at Gerloff, I prepared presentations for project, designs, and costing as well as effectively dealt with material logistics. I liaised with clients, architects, and head office; conducted meetings with client representatives, general contractor, and sub-contractors, architects, designers, engineers. I ensured compliance with quality standards on product, production, and installation. The following are highlights of the value I have brought to the company: Spearheaded high-class luxury hotel projects for the premier German flight turnkey hotel fit out contractor; managed business development ranging from bidding and construction to final delivery for 5 Star Hotels and leading hotel brands across Europe. Handled client payments and related correspondence, prepared accurate invoices, and checked sub-contractors invoices, and variations. Directed a wide range of workshops with client, architect, designer, and Construction Company; provided appropriate recommendations on design, detail, feasibility, and costing.
