VA Tech Wabag is a leading EPC turnkey contractor in all areas of large scale water treatment such as waste water, drinking water, desalination as well as operation and maintenance (O&M). WABAG executes projects on design build basis (DBO) as well as under various financing models such as BOOT and DBOT. The role as MD encompasses full P&L of the MEA region executing a €100M+ backlog including subsidiaries/establishments/SPVs in Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Iran and Saudi. Direct reports includes Country Managers, Head of Sales & Marking, Finance & Administration with an overall workforce of 200+ Combining the technical innovation, the engineering competence and the sourcing capability of the entire group allowed WABAG to win some the region’s largest projects in 2015.
VA Tech Wabag is a leading EPC turnkey contractor in all areas of large scale water treatment such as waste water, drinking water, desalination as well as operation and maintenance (O&M). WABAG executes projects on design build basis (DBO) as well as under various financing models such as BOOT and DBOT. The role as CEO & MD encompasses full P&L of the holding in Austria executing a €100M+ backlog including subsidiaries/establishments in Switzerland, Romanian, Czech Republic, Macao, Namibia, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, Iran and Saudi. In this role I had the opportunity to launch new fast growing subsidiaries in Turkey and Romania as well as one of Africa’s first BOOT financed SPVs for industrial water re-use in Namibia. Through subsidiaries in emerging markets and combining the technical expertise in Europe with the manpower of the Indian mother company VA Tech WABAG’s continued growth was achieved even in periods of geopolitical turbulence.
