Serves as the Assistant Deputy Inspector General for Administrative Investigations (AI) at the United States Department of Defense (DoD). Responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of AI and all its sub-components to include the Investigations of Senior Officials, Whistleblower Reprisal Investigations, the DoD Hotline Directorate, and the Whistleblower Protection Coordinator. Leads budget formulation and execution, manpower and resource allocation, and organizational transformation.
Led a team of over 25 personnel responsible for conducting all investigations against Army senior officials (general officers, Senior Executive Service civilians) to resolve complaints and allegations. • Managed, reviewed, and prioritized more than 300 misconduct investigations plus analyzed and resolved over 2500 complaints. Routinely briefed Army senior executives on case updates. • Mentored over 650 operational level leaders at over 45 working group sessions at the Army’s Pre Command Course by presenting inspector general complaint and misconduct trends. • Reduced the Army open investigative caseload by 50% (from an average of 60 cases to only 30) by implementing an organizational case processing redesign that improved efficiencies.
Led a team of over 40 personnel responsible for conducting or managing inquiries to resolve complaints and provided policy guidance and oversight to Army inspectors general worldwide. • Justified additional personnel that arrested the rapid growth of Army wide open whistleblower cases and increased monthly case closures by 35% (from an average of 13 cases to 20). • Frequently presented sensitive case updates to Army senior executive leaders and periodically engaged directly with Congressional staffers on complex cases involving their constituents. • Provided oversight to 200 inspector general offices worldwide and conducted numerous sessions with subordinate offices to improve inspector general procedures and resolve complex cases.
Director of Operations for a four-star Joint Command supporting 68 thousand US Forces and 34 thousand Coalition Forces. • Orchestrated the US staff effort for the presidential-directed force manning reduction from 65K to 34K US service members and ensured continued support to the operational commander. • Directly managed and synchronized efforts of 75 personnel from all Services in the execution of force management, force equipping, force protection, future operations and current operations. • Forged a team of diverse service members, civilians, and contractors to understand the strategic implications of providing immediate and feasible equipment solutions to the warfighter.
Served as deputy commander of an organization responsible for training 18,000 soldiers annually. Coached, trained and mentored the brigade staff, managed an annual budget of over $6 million. • Planned, coordinated, and led the inactivation of a reserve component Army training unit (personnel, facilities, equipment, etc) and activated a new unit within a 90-day time span. • Effectively justified and received an additional $1.8 million for additional supplies, equipment, soldier and facility improvements that improved training outcomes and quality of life. • Created a quarterly healthcare seminar with key stakeholders that created efficiencies and reduced medical missed appointments by 30%. Rated as a best practice amongst twelve similar commands.
Led, managed, and resourced an organization responsible for the training of 5,000 soldiers annually. Coached, trained and mentored the unit’s staff, managed an annual budget of over $2 million. • On short notice, converted and certified five units to conduct the Warrior Transition Course, the only unit in the Army that conducted this challenging mission of transitioning prior Air Force, Navy, Marine, and Coast Guard service members into Army soldiers. • Spearheaded new training initiatives such as the realistic Combat Patrol Exercise to achieve better training outcomes for the nearly 5000 soldiers trained every year. • Received laudatory comments from over 60 key civilian and political leaders during Leadership Oklahoma, an event that showcased training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
