I am a scientist driven by curiosity, creativity, and a deep belief that science can change how people experience the world. Over the past decade, my work has spanned academia and industry, leading to 11 patents, 6 publications, and 8 products successfully launched across wellness, nutrition, and personal care. At Dyson, I led personal care science and engineering innovation, transforming bioactive chemistry and materials engineering into high-performance product experiences. I also coordinated multi-million dollar research programs and collaborated with global cross-functional teams to build robust technical dossiers, IP portfolios, and evidence-based product claims. My role bridged the gap between deep scientific discovery and business strategy, ensuring every innovation delivered both technical excellence and market differentiation. Our Dyson Beauty’s formulation portfolio now includes Chitosan® styling range and Omega® nourishing range. Previously, at Suntory, I managed R&D innovation for functional foods and supplements, creating first-in-market formulations and securing exclusivity through new ingredient discovery and patent filings. My scientific contributions supported the launch of flagship products such as Brand’s Essence of Chicken, FlexC-II®, and ProBetigen®. My journey began at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where my doctoral research uncovered the biochemical mechanism behind the red edible bird’s nest (‘blood’ nest)—a breakthrough that challenged long-held scientific assumptions and earned international recognition through peer-reviewed publications, patents, and media coverage. I continue to be inspired by the challenge of translating complex science into meaningful innovations, and I look forward to building technologies that connect human needs with scientific possibility.
