I am an MD/PhD student at the Tri-Institutional MD/PhD Program jointly sponsored by Weill Cornell, Rockefeller University, and Memorial Sloan Kettering. My clinical interests lie in oncology, while my research interests are in cancer genetics, epigenetics, drug resistance, and DNA damage. Please feel free to reach me at [email protected]!

I am currently investigating chromatin topology, DNA replication, and DNA damage with Dr. Robin Sebastian. Through TJHSST's Mentorship Program, I worked in Dr. Philipp Oberdoerffer's lab studying how macroH2A1 splice variants ensure genomic stability.
Undergraduate research fellow in Dr. Andrew Xiao's lab studying acquired mechanisms of EGFR-mut non-small cell lung cancer drug resistance. Funded by the Yale College Dean's Office Hahn Scholars Fellowship, Yale College Dean's Research Fellowship, and First-Year Summer Fellowship.
With Anish Karpurapu, Alexander Ahn, and Vandana Subramanian, we targeted the ABCB1 gene, which is commonly overexpressed in drug-resistant cancers, using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. Using MCF-7 (breast cancer cells) and MCF-7/ADR (multidrug-resistant MCF-7 cells) as models, we demonstrated ~70% efficacy in reversing multidrug resistance in MCF-7/ADR cells as measured in drug sensitivity assays, flow cytometry, and qRT-PCR. I mentored underclassmen researchers pursuing molecular biology projects during the 2018-2019 school year with Dr. James.
Interned in Dr. Philipp Oberdoerffer's lab to elucidate the role of m6A RNA modification in DNA double-stranded break repair. Collaborated with Dr. Pedro Batista's lab. Presented findings at annual Summer Intern Poster Day. Funded by the Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research (SIP).
