I started my career doing Finance and M&A at GE. Billion-dollar transactions, P&L, models, due diligence that actually closed deals. From there, Morgan Stanley equity research, COO of a hedge fund where I doubled AUM by fund raising in a year, Chief of Staff at my family's publicly traded restaurant group, where I ran headquarters and completed a CFO search while the company was between leaders. Then a O2O educations startup, $600K raised, 300 institutional partners, 15-person team. Built it, ran it, moved on. The common thread is to step into complex situations, figure out what's broken, and build something better. For the past eight years I've been running AKAD, an MBA/undergraduate admissions services. We've worked with 500+ clients, helped them land acceptances from top MBA programs globally, and $15M in scholarships. The subject matter is careers and business schools. The actual work is operations, client delivery, and figuring out how to scale something without breaking it. Outside of work I'm usually thinking about investments or where to eat next.
