Leadership role with the Engineering & Planning Department of a large interdisciplinary architecture, engineering, consulting and design firm. Typical projects included land use plan amendments, local government planning services, conceptual design services for roadways under the jurisdiction of the Florida Department of Transportation, entitlement planning, due diligence reports, community planning, and redevelopment projects. With over 25 years of engineering design and management experience Mr. Grainger has developed the know-how for getting the job done efficiently and effectively. His vast and versatile experience with public, private, residential and commercial projects has provided a foundation for effective project management. As an Associate, he has provided complete project services overseeing all aspects of the design, permitting and construction for multiple projects for both municipal, commercial, and residential developments. His responsibilities include engineering design, and complete project management for land development projects with emphasis on water distribution, sanitary sewer, drainage, and roadway design and master planning. In addition to cost estimating, quantity take-offs, and bid evaluations he has extensive experience with project scheduling and coordination. His work has included all aspects of project management, design, permitting, and construction coordination for projects along the east coast. Some of Mr. Grainger's key projects include roadway and neighborhood improvement projects, marina facilities, hotels, municipal/safety complexes, schools, housing authority projects and several projects striving for LEED Certification to enhance sustainable development. Mr. Grainger was raised in Boston area where he studied Architectural and Engineering Design. He relocated to South Florida in late 2002 and studied at the University of Florida, where he received his Master's Degree in Business Administration.
Founding Member of Emerge Broward in South Florida. The organization has grown from just over 100 members at the start to roughly 1,000 members in just seven years time. Mission To identify the emerging leaders and young professionals of Broward County, connect them with each other and current leaders in the community, develop their ability to serve as community trustees, and engage them within the community. Emerge Broward, a program of the Leadership Broward Foundation, was developed in order to promote leadership and personal development among young professionals through networking, community involvement, and educational opportunities. The program was developed to meet the unique needs of young professionals in the community. In most cases, young professionals are new to the community in which they live, as well as to their jobs, and are looking for ways to meet new people and become involved in the community. Many young professionals want to improve their leadership abilities and aspire to leadership roles in the near future. Emerge Broward has four autonomous committees based on the pillars of the organization as outlined in the mission statement: IDENTIFY, CONNECT, DEVELOP and ENGAGE. Each committee meets monthly and provides a variety of events and activities to advance their purposes. Each committee has co-chairs with specific responsibilities. Additionally, each co-chair serves on the Executive Committee, led by two overall co-chairs. The Executive Committee has the responsibility of coordinating communication and providing support to the four committees.

Responsibilities included designing all aspects of a project from initial land calculations for surface water storage to the final grading, drainage, and water/sewer locations. Acted as liaison between Owner, Architect and Contractors. Managed modification(s) to plans based on agency comments. Evaluate construction progress in the field. Assist the permitting department with the application process.
