I’m Eric, a designer and developer in Portland, Oregon. I believe in human-centered design, eloquent code, and technology that empowers instead of controls. My other interests include analog and digital photography, bicycling, and social justice.
Lead developer at Rumors, a studio in Portland that specializes in publishing, interactive design, and projects on the political left.
I'm working to help build a multi-faceted digital publications program for the Getty. My responsibilities lie in the intersection between design, technology, and content. I support Getty Publications in the creation of digital books across a variety of formats and platforms; in the management of digital assets and workflows for creating and maintaining those publications; and in the implementation and management of the Publications website, Virtual Library and other future digital initiatives.
I oversee all aspects of graphic production at the museum, and manage the Museum's design team. My responsibilities include design and production of exhibition graphics, signage and wayfinding around the museum, marketing collateral, brochures, web and interactive design, and management of the museum's brand identity. Additionally I generate copy, write code, and take photographs as needed.
At the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology I managed the in-house publication wing for the department. In addition to design and production of books, I oversaw the design and production of the Institute's marketing materials, magazine, website, and branded an international education program.
